Here’s a common question which pops up just about everywhere.

If the free market is so wonderful and the private sector so superior, then why aren’t there any free market schools?

Because there is no free market. The same is true of fascist and communist schools. They don’t exist in the U.S. because the political and economic structures upon which they depend do not exist. There are no free market entities unless there is first a free market.

The idea that there are pockets of free markets existing within our bound markets is not uncommon. Many people think we can simply label a market free and it becomes free. Or that the creation of free market entities can exist without first having free markets.
